The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze is widely considered the Hudson Valley’s biggest and most dazzling Halloween event. Held at the historic Van Cortlandt Manor in Croton-on-Hudson, this immersive nighttime experience transforms the 18th-century estate into a breathtaking wonderland featuring more than 7,000 hand-carved and illuminated jack o’lanterns. Every pumpkin is designed and carved on-site by a team of artisans. Visitors follow a winding path through themed displays, glowing sculptures, and dramatic tableaus set against the manor’s historic buildings and scenic riverside grounds. Synchronized lighting and an original soundtrack make the walk feel truly magical. New displays are added each year, including iconic New York-themed scenes. Presented by Historic Hudson Valley and Con Edison, the Blaze typically runs from mid-September through mid-November on select evenings. Advance tickets are required (no walk-up sales).
